How often should I service my AC?

Once a year, ideally in the spring before the first heat wave. An annual tune up keeps the system running at its rated efficiency, catches worn parts before they fail in July, and is usually required to keep your manufacturer’s warranty valid. If your air conditioner is more than ten years old, or if it struggled to keep up last summer, book earlier in the season while appointments are still open.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency repairs?

What is SEER and why does it matter?

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It measures how much cooling an air conditioner delivers for the electricity it uses across a full season, so a higher SEER means a lower hydro bill for the same comfort. Many older units still running in Ottawa homes sit around 10 to 13 SEER, while current high efficiency models are rated well above that. Across the fifteen or so years a system lasts, that gap shows up on every summer bill, which is why SEER is worth weighing when you replace a unit instead of just comparing purchase prices.
